History

Armstrong Electric was founded on August 13, 1976 by John E. Armstrong, and was incorporated on December 13, 1978; however, we are now an employee-owned company. Our corporate charter is to perform all types of electrical work as dictated by our customers. The company began by specializing in heavy industrial work at the metal casting foundries, paper mills, and a naval nuclear fuel manufacturing facility based in the Central Virginia area. The projects performed in the company's infancy were primarily the very difficult projects requiring specialized labor, technical knowledge and equipment.

Of course, as with all companies, growth is required to maintain a stable, competent work force, therefore we expanded and began performing commercial, institutional and light industrial projects and maintenance.

Having over three decades in the electrical contracting business gives Armstrong Electric the perspective and professional credibility the market demands. We know the business—from the largest, most complex project to the smallest devices. We are thoroughly knowledgeable of the industry's past and stand certain of its future methods and direction. This certainty affords our clients the peace of mind that they are receiving the best service possible.
